This term we have been very busy in Dove class. We have been learning all about the signs of Autumn. We went on a lovely walk and collected several things that showed us it was Autumn time. We used these things in our learning in the class room to tell stories, make art pieces and in maths for counting and grouping. We found out about Autumn festivals – Harvest and Diwali. We wrote prayers, thought about where our food comes from, printed with vegetables and even made some tasty bread. We loved learning about combine harvesters! We made and decorated salt dough divas for our families for Christmas and learned the story of Diwali using a story map and our own class actions. We have ended the term learning about Christmas and the story of the birth of Jesus. We loved performing as angels and citizens of Bethlehem. What a busy term!

All the new reception children have settled really well and have enjoyed their first days at school. They have been particularly enjoying exploring our new enlarged outdoor area. We have started a topic of ‘All About Me’ and have been busy exploring our senses, growing and thinking about all our different families.
